Hermansville has a fascinating background like no other in the area. The town was founded in 1878 and was built on the lumbering business, more specifically, the hardwood flooring business. C.J.L. Meyer created a business with the invention of machinery which revolutionized the hardwood flooring industry and helped make Hermansville into a boomtown in its day. The IXL Museum is a living testament to the history of the town. Visit the Museum for more information on the town’s history.
